Terms of Service

These terms govern your engagement with Team4Security and Concierge Services Ltd. By retaining our services or visiting our website, you agree to be bound by the following. Please read carefully — if anything is unclear, contact us before proceeding.

Who these terms apply to

These Terms of Service apply to all clients, site visitors, and any party who engages Team4Security and Concierge Services Ltd. (“we,” “us,” “our”) for security guard services, mobile patrol, concierge security, event security, or loss prevention in British Columbia.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, requesting a quote, signing a service agreement, or receiving services from us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

  • If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services or website.
  • These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of our services following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
  • We will notify clients of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect.

Services & Scope of Work

All services are provided in accordance with the BC Security Services Act and applicable provincial regulations. Our officers hold valid BC Security Worker licences.

  • Services are confirmed only upon execution of a written service agreement or purchase order.
  • Scope, hours, post orders, and staffing levels are defined per contract and may not be altered without written consent from both parties.
  • We reserve the right to substitute qualified personnel of equal or greater certification without prior notice.
  • Our services do not constitute law enforcement. Officers are not empowered to arrest, detain, or use force beyond what is permitted under the BC Security Services Act and common law.
⚠️ Special services note: Emergency response, armed guard services, or specialized surveillance require a separate addendum and are subject to additional regulatory requirements.

Client Obligations

Clients must provide a safe, lawful working environment for our personnel at all times. Failure to maintain this may result in immediate withdrawal of services without penalty to Team4Security and Concierge Services Ltd.

  • Accurate site information, access credentials, and emergency contacts must be provided prior to commencement.
  • Known hazards, threatening individuals, or active incidents must be disclosed in advance.
  • Clients must not direct officers to act outside the agreed scope or in violation of any law.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any instructions or post orders you provide comply with applicable legislation.

Fees & Payment

Service fees are as agreed in the written service contract. Unless otherwise specified, the following payment terms apply:

  • Invoices not paid within 15 days accrue interest at 1.5% per month (18% per annum).
  • We reserve the right to suspend services for accounts more than 30 days overdue.
  • All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Limitation of Liability

While we take every reasonable precaution, security services cannot guarantee the complete prevention of loss, damage, or injury. Our liability is limited as follows:

🔒 Liability cap: Our total liability shall not exceed fees paid in the 30-day period preceding any incident. This cap applies except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct proven against Team4Security and Concierge Services Ltd.
  • We are not liable for losses arising from acts of nature, third-party interference, or pre-existing site vulnerabilities.
  • Certificate of insurance is available upon written request.
  • Clients are strongly encouraged to maintain independent property and contents insurance.

Privacy & Data Collection

We handle all personal information in accordance with the BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the federal PIPEDA. We collect only what is necessary to deliver our services.

  • Personal data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties except as required by law or with your explicit written consent.
  • CCTV footage, access logs, and incident reports collected on behalf of clients remain the client’s property.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to our privacy officer.
  • Our website may use analytics cookies only. No PII is collected via cookies without your explicit consent.

Incident Reporting & Records

All incidents during a scheduled service period are documented and reported to the client within 24 hours. Critical incidents receive immediate verbal notification followed by a written report.

  • Reports may be disclosed to law enforcement or legal counsel upon lawful request.
  • Clients must not instruct officers to omit, alter, or suppress any factual information from a report.
  • Daily Activity Reports (DARs) are provided as standard and archived for the contract duration.

Termination of Services

Either party may terminate the service agreement with 14 days written notice. Termination for cause — including non-payment, unsafe conditions, or breach of contract — may take effect immediately without notice.

  • Cancellations with fewer than 48 hours notice for scheduled shifts may incur a fee equal to one shift’s billing rate.
  • All outstanding invoices remain payable upon termination regardless of which party initiated it.
  • Client-provided materials, access credentials, and equipment will be returned within 5 business days of termination.

Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable federal law. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; if unresolved within 30 days, through binding arbitration in Surrey, BC.

⚖️ Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration arising from our services.
  • These terms constitute the entire agreement and supersede all prior understandings, written or oral.
  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Our failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of our right to do so in the future.
